Alla luce della oramai scontata condanna di Microsoft per concorrenza sleale, l’associazione NewGlobal.it ha deciso di mettere gratuitamente a disposizione degli associati ma anche di tutti gli utenti e navigatori della Rete Internet, un modulo per richiedere a Microsoft Italia ed alle aziende produttrici di personal computer, il rimborso dei costi sostenuti per l’acquisto, assieme all’elaboratore elettronico (hardware), del software per l’installazione del sistema operativo “Microsoft Windows”. Secondo l’associazione, Microsoft e le principali aziende mondiali che producono personal computer, hanno sottoscritto accordi distorsivi della concorrenza che obbligano i consumatori, al momento dell’acquisto finale di un personal computer, ad acquistare anche il software per l’installazione del sistema operativo “Microsoft Windows”, quando invece il mercato offre altri sistemi operativi, altrettanto validi se non migliori. In particolare vi sono sistemi operativi interamente gratuiti, come quelli della famiglia “Linux”, che offrono prestazioni superiori a quelle di “Windows”. L’atteggiamento di Microsoft e delle case produttrici di hardware danneggia dunque i consumatori e la concorrenza. Il modulo di raccomandata da inviare a Microsoft Italia ed alla casa produttrice di personal computer è gratuitamente disponibile a un indirizzo accessibile anche dalla home page del sito dell’associazione. NewGlobal.it organizzerà le segnalazioni degli utenti all’Autorità Garante della Concorrenza e del Mercato perchè emetta un provvedimento di condanna contro Microsoft e le aziende colluse.
